2023 was a good SBOA. It was not perfect in every way, but most people enjoyed good shows by good bands. Tickets for 2024 are already on sale for prices between €200 and €239,99 depending on the date you buy the tickets. The first bands have been confirmed to make a decision easier.

Party.San Metal Open Air 2023
The line-up this year was limited to “real” metal, nothing else. I like some fun stuff in between too, but this Party.San line-up was like going back to my youth, a lot of Death Metal. It was a pleasure to see Obituary and Hypocrisy having a headliner spot with an awesome sound, and not just in the afternoon. The sound, by the way, was really great in general. And it was fantastic to see many Death and some Black Metal bands. Some of which I ‘ve never had the chance of seeing before, and now all of them just one after the other.
Rock & Metal Day’z – ARE YOU READY?
The open air festival season 2023 will start soon. One of the earliest festivals are the Rock & Metal Day’z. They are located next to Motorsportarena Oschersleben.
Rock & Metal Day’z Vegan Specialty
Last year at the Rock & Metal Day'z I stumbled over a perfect vegan meal. Tasty, not expensive and easy to make with a little preparation. I asked Ute Horn, the cook for the recipe so here it is. If you want to try Ute’s original Mac ‘n’ Cheese come over for this year’s Rock & Metal Day’z next to Motorsportarena Oschersleben. Amongst the bands are April Art, Fire Rose, Motor Jesus, Bonded and many others!
Rock & Metal Day’z – Behind the Curtain
While most visitors to concerts and festivals concentrate on the obvious only, the bands on stage, I often like to take a closer look behind. Who are the people working hard for it since we know, Pink is not there for our entertainment? What goes on backstage, who is in charge? How much work is behind a three days’ event? At least, who are those people who seem to play a role in front of stage as part of the audience? Here is a little insight from the Rock and Metal Day'z, Whitsun 2022.
Rock & Metal Day’z 2022
The early summer sun has burned the metalheads while they celebrated the first wave of festivals. You might now think of Metalfest Plzen or much bigger and more mainstream, Rock am Ring and im Park with 85,000 spectators as the first ones to come up. Cut the last two zeros. I’m talking about a much smaller, laid-back festival, the Rock & Metal Day'z at Oschersleben nearby Magdeburg.
Rockharz – The Wasted Years
There are a lot of festivals in summer. Some are rainy. Some are sunny. Some are hot and dry, some are cold and wet. However, there is only one festival embedded in such a wonderful, picturesque landscape as the Rockharz Festival.
