The bands of tonight are Dutch Epica and Finnish Apolcalyptica with their guest vocalist Franky Perez. It will be ‘Symphonic Power Metal’ in one way or another: In a rather classic sense of the term that we have long known from Epica and Metal powered by all but symphonic cellos the way only Apocalyptica can deliever. Support act of the tour and third band are Finnish prog-metalists Wheel but read yourself...
Four metal bands of which all of the musicians are pure eye candy. Nevertheless, skills, hard work and talent over looks, all of them are first of all brilliant musicians, there is no doubt about it. I am talking about Ad Infinitum, Butcher Babies, Amaranthe and Beyond The Black. Stadthalle Offenbach seems to be the adequate size for these four metal jewels. The tour is double headlined by Amaranthe and Beyond The Black and was postponed several times due to you-know-what. Now there are no restrictions and the party can begin.
Epica have just released their epic album "The Alchemy Project" featuring many interesting artists usually known from all but symphonic metal genres such as Björn "Speed" Strid, Niilo Sevänen or Sven de Caluwé or the legendary Uriah Heep keyboard veteran Phil Lanzon.
KiaRa is one of Imperial Age’s two female vocalists – beside Jane Odintsova. She released her first solo album “Storyteller” in 2020. In her own words, “the sound on this album [Archangel] is much higher quality and professional than on the first one album ‘Storyteller’. The music is also more mature.” I personally liked Storyteller for its roughness quite a lot, let’s see and hear about the progress now.
