Melodic Death Metal
Amorphis – Borderland
Borderland is unusual for Amorphis but still clearly Amorphis. Some people might miss the rougher side of the band. Others will appreciate this different side to the band. The producer’s softer influence is undeniable. Consider it an experiment in crossing borders. Welcome to the “Borderland”, Amorphis. Welcome to a new shore everybody outside in the world!
Chatting with Federico of Frozen Crown
It is a few days before the tour start together with Ad Infinitum and Blackbriar in support of Kamelot. During the first days of the tour, Frozen Crown’s new album “War Hearts” will be released. I meet Federico Mondelli, guitarist and founder of Frozen Crown for an interview. We have already scheduled it for double the time than usual and I have quite a list of topics… We are both no native English speakers, and the questions were not scripted but as spontaneous as possible,
Live on the Edge Of Paradise
I have experienced impressive, sensational Edge Of Paradise. Now I know a little bit, how a stand-in musician must feel when she or he has to learn all the songs of the set list in only a few days. I got to know all their songs in just three days listening to them in rotation again and again without getting bored a single second.
DragonForce speeding up with Amaranthe
Tonight was a night of perfect entertainment. None of the bands was better or worse than the others. Even Infected Rain with their shorter set could enchant the audience on a level equal to both headliners, DragonForce and Amaranthe. I loved that the show tonight was sold out, it gives me hope that the Corona years with half empty venues are history now.
Ignea travelling with Ghosts of Atlantis, Butcher Babies and Fear Factory
I experienced four excellent bands though I focused on one band in particular. Ignea deserved and deserve all the attention they get and I really, really hope to see them again rather sooner than later with a full set. That doesn’t mean, I didn’t like the other bands, I just had my priorities with them.
Chris Maragoth – Gatherer of Souls
Chris Maragoth’s Gatherer of Souls has introduced me to another version, another world of Metal. It is complex, it is melancholic. The album is very different. I can dream away with this wonderful gem and piece of art and can only invite you to give it a listen and watch out for more to come from Chris Maragoth.
Mors Subita – “Origin Of Fire” coming soon
Accidental after-show conversation with Mika Lammassaari from Mors Subita on evolution of personal style, the perception of music and why to go on writing albums. We also spoke of the soon-to-be-released album "Origin Of Fire" and the release tour.
Nachtblut – Vanitas –
Tonight we will experience two remarkable German bands of a sold-out concert tonight, Nachtblut and special guest Asenblut. LET'S GET BLOODY NOW!
Ad Infinitum – Butcher Babies – Amaranthe – Beyond The Black
Four metal bands of which all of the musicians are pure eye candy. Nevertheless, skills, hard work and talent over looks, all of them are first of all brilliant musicians, there is no doubt about it. I am talking about Ad Infinitum, Butcher Babies, Amaranthe and Beyond The Black. Stadthalle Offenbach seems to be the adequate size for these four metal jewels. The tour is double headlined by Amaranthe and Beyond The Black and was postponed several times due to you-know-what. Now there are no restrictions and the party can begin.
