That is the perfect entertainment, a real Rock and Roll party. Usually, when a show is over and you got to go home, you leave after the last note or latest after buying your piece of merch or a CD. Not this time, Fire Rose join their audience immediately after the show. They also offer a free drink in form of a cask of apple wine to raise the glasses together for the sake of Rock and Roll music. It will take hours until the last guest leaves the venue...
Today we have the great honour to present you the review of an album, hand forged by our most beloved Swiss guys. We are talking about Fire Rose's "Blood On Your Hands". We link our impressions to the words of Simon "Simi" Giese, guitarist and founder of Fire Rose. Most of the songs are well known to Fire Rose's audience as they are a constant part of their live repertoire, but it will be interesting to find out if the studio tracks have the same energy as the powerful and driving live versions that Fire Rose are loved for by their growing fan base.
More than 1200 people gather inside Garage/Saarbrücken for a sold out show of Lord Of The Lost. 2023 is their busiest year so far. Album release a day before New Year’s Eve, chart position No. 1 for Blood And Glitter one week later, winning German ESC preliminary competition, the ESC itself, another tour with Iron Maiden are just a few milestones. It is their year, the year of Lotlmania.
The last days of 2022 surprised us with an unexpected album release. The album we are talking about is Blood and Glitter and the band is Lord Of The Lost. No big marketing campaign, just an announcement 6 days before the release.
Between the dates of the Iron Maiden Tour playing in front of 50.000 metal heads, Lord of The Lord find the time for some Killer Filler shows. Venues smaller than the stage only of the named tour but their own headliner shows. They play a few well-chosen smaller festivals as the Castle Rock at Mühlheim. Today they are hosted by legendary Colos Saal at Aschaffenburg/Lower Franconia. The capacity is 500 and the show is sold out.
There is only one festival embedded in such a wonderful, picturesque landscape as the Rock Harz Festival from 6th to 9th July, one day longer than usual as a bit of a compensation. With its up to 22,000 visitors it is a middle sized festival nearby the town of Ballenstedt. Let’s see how everything worked out this year because it is a constantly growing festival.
Reflecting the reaction of the metalverse to the war in Ukraine and attempting to differentiate between morals and politics. War shifts priorities and reveals commercial interests above the moral of anti-war songs. Who is good and who is evil. It’s complicated!
I am meeting none other than Class Grenayde, Lord Of The Lost’s bass player. The obvious cause is the release of their new album “Judas” but topics flit from football to pets and whatnot. I am surprised anyway. How about you?
