Margarita Monet, the vocalist of Edge Of Paradise and I had spent several hours together already. We’ve been talking about this and that, flight, gear, problems, tour, etc. since I met the band two hours prior doors opened. We almost forgot that we had scheduled an interview. Thus, most of the questions had already been answered by Margarita but not been recorded. We finally sit down backstage around midnight when the venue is emptying, and everybody can become a bit more relaxed.
I have experienced impressive, sensational Edge Of Paradise. Now I know a little bit, how a stand-in musician must feel when she or he has to learn all the songs of the set list in only a few days. I got to know all their songs in just three days listening to them in rotation again and again without getting bored a single second.
The show was a blast. I can only recommend to check the dates, get a ticket while they are available and go to the show. It is well worth your time and money. I personally believe that next time I will see Manntra in a bigger venue, they are rising and rising and they deserve all their success because it is the result of hard work.
I have to thank Hell Boulevard for "Requiem". It is a fantastic album and a worthy successor to "Not Sorry", their 2020 release. The influence of Chris Harms is undeniable, but not dominant. That's what I call a perfect collaboration. Check out the album and the German tour dates in April. Is there any venue near you? Go and enjoy the gothic party!
Some of you might already have read our interview with Justine Daaé, vocalist and mastermind behind Elyose, one of the most promising French metal projects. Elyose's newest release Déviante is the fifth studio album and was released on February 9th, 2023. The album is a sophisticated mix between Modern Metal and Nu Goth with a touch of Metalcore, all lyrics come in French. It contains nine brand new songs plus a “radio mix”.
Obscuro had the honour to virtually interview Justine Daaé during the release process of her band Elyose’ new album Déviante. Justine is a great artist with one of the best female vocals not only in the French Metal World.
With clever song writing, great musicianship and a mood-driven sound, GGGOLDDD address the issue of rape in a brutally honest way, generating a memorably dark and uneasy ambiance.
Dust In Mind come from Strasbourg to shred in peace but to bring “CTRL”, already released in autumn 2021, on glamorous stages. The five Alsatians add a fine selection of pieces from previous albums to their set - a neat package for their first European headlining tour.
