The program on Saturday starts slightly earlier, these are the bands on the Main Stage
Wir sind Wer
I arrive just in time for the second half of he short set. It turns out to be a project of children choir and adult musician. Not bad, musical education can’t start early enough.
Wojtek
The band foreseen for this slot had to cancel it short before, thus the organisers are in a rush to find a substitute. Some phone calls later, local band Wojtek enter the stage with their incredible Alternative Rock. Wojtek are THE surprise act of the festival, technical on a very high level, sympathic, a real gem of the local scene. I hope to see and hear more of them soon. Next gig will be at Erdbeerfest Eltville on 14th June evening. Go there and enjoy four extremely skilled young musicians who will blow you away with their outstanding performance.
Grid68
The organizers know vocalist Jessie since ages and are very happy to welcome her and her band Grid68 live on stage. Their punk inspired sound combines soft notes and hard riffs to thetast of the audience. BAN! is a festival where you just pass by strutting around on the festival and come to a halt when something catches your interest. This counts for Grid68 as well.
Snuckouts
It becomes rougher and tougher again with the next band from the other side of the moon Rhine, Mainz. Alt-Rock and Melodic Punk-Rock rules for the next 45 minutes. Pay attention, Snuckouts are curretly working on their EP which will be released in early October.
Clampdown
Post-Punk rules early evening. The set nevertheless starts less heavy than the genre suggests and two slow songs are part of the set tonight. The vocalist of Clampdown demads moshpits, wall of death and circle pit though. He get’s what he deserves…
The Robians
The sund fades away, and Blues Rock fades in. Well done, very skilled and catchy. A well deserved playing time for The Robians for sure, they would not have been a band for he early afternoon.
JxP
The closer of Saturday Night Fever presents a wild mixture called Multi-Genre-Melting Pot. Solid guitar riffs combine saxophone, rap, and any kind of music you can think of.
Other Impressions
Of course there was still more going on on Saturday. Here are some impressions, audience, visitors, stalls, E-stage, Ban!topia-stage and more. Pay a visit wither on Sunday or next year, it is worth it. I liked to cross the borders get new inspirations from the music I heard and saw. Support the local scene, check out local venues for concerts. Without culture , it will become very silent!
Online:
Please buy merch and physical music or downloads from the bands’ official sources and don’t stream it for free, because that steals the artists’ income.
