When Nanowar of Steel announced their Motorcultor Festival Across Europe Tour 2026 in the middle of last year, they listed Uuhai from Mongolia as co-headliners. Alongside these two bands, a further seven support acts were scheduled for the 27 dates over 31 days. An additional band was added later, bringing the total to eight: Lone Survivor, Morphium, Deus Ex Machina, Cold Snap, Defecto, Vaughan, Lady Ahnabel and My Own Ghost.
It is always lovely to meet the one or other artist during festivals. Either by accident because they run into you or the other way round, or because you are scheduled for an interview with them. I've rarely had more fun in less time than during this interview with Gtto. Even Lisa from Napalm Records said afterwards, "This is a band you have to understand and get into, but you have the right kind of humour for it."
I have spent the last ten days here as a member of the crew of Rock & Metal Day’z. Today is the day to move to Ballenstedt and Rockharz Festival for the next five days. Read about each day and watch the pics of bands, fans, crew, evacuation and whatever happened.
In 2023 we saw the best line-up ever at the Rockharz Festival near Ballenstedt/Harz, according to the comments of most visitors. You could call it a very successful festival 2023 and 30th anniversary party, which resulted in an already sold-out festival 2024 on August 21st, even though only a few bands were confirmed.
I witnessed two Italian power packs. Both bands know, how to enchant the audience. The combination of Power Metal and Comedy Metal was incredible. For Frozen Crown the tour ends three days later. NanowaR Of Steel continue the second half with Tragedy as special guest. I hope to see both bands again this year, either on a festival somewhere in Europe or during another indoor show.
Today we will have a listen to the fifth studio album of one of the funniest, most (un)serious and truest metal bands ever. It was released 10th of March 2023 by Napalm Records. The album is called “Dislike Of False Metal” and the band’s name is NanowaR Of Steel from Italy. Take them serious or not as metal-heads, this is totally up to you but certainly take them serious as very skilled musicians. Now no more words wasted, let’s listen to the first of ten brand new parody songs.
