Cobra Spell
December Newsflash
2025 is coming to an end. Most people count down the days by Christmas or New Year’s Eve. Metalheads are caught in Whamageddon until the bitter end out of the sudden. Nevertheless there are some occasions left over for a good old Headbangers Ball.
NOAF 2025, Our First Time
Three weeks after the Party.San Open Air, it's time for the second and final encore of my summer festival season. I will be visiting a nearby festival. In fact, it is so close that I had never been before. For 19 years, it was just too close in time to another festival that I had attended regularly for almost a decade. Now, however, the time has come for me to add NOAF in Wörrstadt to my list of local festivals. I will therefore commute between my warm, dry bed at home and the festival.
Vulvarine -Fast Lane
Are you ready for some punk-inspired Heavy Metal? Are you ready for an outstanding all female Heavy Metal band? Are you ready for some Austrian Heavy Metal? Now you will get it all at once. No compromises, let’s get ready for Vulvarine’s debut album on Napalm Records. The album was released on March 28th, at the same day, Vulvarine played their home town Vienna at Szene Wien. Let’s now get ready for a wild ride on the “Fast Lane”.
Chatting with Sonia of Cobra Spell
As promised, here is the second interview with Cobra Spell, this time with founder and lead guitarist Sonia Anubis. Most of you might also know her from her fantastic work with Burning Witches and Crypta. We will of course talk about Cobra Spell and the album "666". But we will also touch on other, more personal topics, technical guitar topics and talk about one of our mutual favourite bands.
SerapiS Project -Palingenesis
Some weeks ago, I interviewed Cobra Spell’s vocalist Kris Vega. It is not her only band, I was already aware of Born In Exile, but she also told me about her third band, SerapiS Project, together with guitarist Joaco Luis. This conceptual progressive metal project released its first album in autumn 2023. I gave it a listen. I liked it, so here we are with the belated review of “Palingenesis”.
Chatting with Kristina of Cobra Spell
Cobra Spell just released their first full album “666”. Short after, I had the honour to interview vocalist Kris Vega and hope, you will enjoy it as much as I did.
Cobra Spell – 666
The whole album 666 is so 80s and certainly relies on the skills of Kris Vega on vocals and Sonia Anubis on lead guitar. Kris’ vocals are outstanding and Sonia’s guitar skills undeniable and she still is so young! Songwriting seems to be based on Sonia’s excellent taste of music and her major influences as a musician.
