RMD’z 2024 – Here we come!
Temperatures are rising, summer is coming. With summer comes the open air festival season 2024, which has already started with big events like Rock Am Ring and Im Park, Metal Fest/Pilsen and some more.
From 27th to 29th June it is time for the Rock & Metal Day’z 2024. They are located on the campsite of the Motorsportarena Oschersleben.
If you read our festival reports from 2022 and 2023, you will understand that this is not a “normal” commercial metal festival, but a very special one. The Rock & Metal Day’z 2024 is organised by the charity organisation M.A.DE. for Kids e.V. Its mission is to help children and young people in need and their families. One focus is cancer aid. All proceeds and donations go to this charity. So, what’s a better reason to go to a metal festival?
Bands
Another reason is the fine selection of well-chosen metal bands. Some are local bands, some are well known German acts, but there are also some bands from other countries.
First of all, of course, there are Fire Rose from Switzerland. They are already part of the RMD’z family. Another Swiss band is none other than Burning Witches, who will also be headlining on Saturday night.
Not to forget Nervosa from Brazil, Saturday’s co-headliners. The four thrashers are the first band from outside Europe to play at Rock €& Metal Day’z! Have we forgotten the Grumpynators from Denmark? Here they are!
Friday’s headliners are two German bands, one of them is Hiraes with metal legend Britta Goertz on vocals as co-headliner. Goitzsche Front from Bitterfeld will close out the Friday night with their brilliant set of German metal.
There are many more bands to discover, here is the schedule, starting with the warm-up party with Out The Mouse and Blacksmith on Thursday night.
Distances are short
Indeed the distances from camp-ground to infield are very short and everything is nearby. The food is home-cooked and barbeque to a high standard and the drinks are very reasonably priced. As well as the usual drinks, there is a special stand offering a fine selection of whiskies and rums, as well as whisk(e)y-based rock and metal punch. Come and have a taste, you won’t regret it. Or maybe the next morning. 😉

Helicopter
If you want to see it from above, book a helicopter flight. Look around, enjoy the scenery and the metal! Sorry, but the helicopter is not available for transfers to the Rockharz Festival…
If you’ve also got tickets for the Rockharz Festival, you don’t need to find a B&B anywhere. You can stay at the campsite for free until your departure. And it is only 45 km away by car…
So there is no excuse to stay away. Come and enjoy the Rock & Metal Day’z 2024 instead of wasting your weekend on the couch, watching TV or playing video games. You won’t regret it, I promise!
