The Audience
One can never have enough audience, visitor, spectators. The RMD’z are not different from other festivals in this case. Sadly, we suffered a bit from quite low temperatures, cold evenings and colder nights in this case. One weekend later it was nearly unbearably hot in Germany… At least we had no rain – and no snow 😉 Nevertheless, some people of the audience caught my attention. Of course there were the members of the befriended Metal clubs, members of M.A.DE. for kids, their friends, well known musicians, band members who spent time with everyone else as a big head banger family.

And there literally was the family who was amongst the earliest birds, a couple with their young metal head daughters. I asked if I could loosely follow them during the festival, take pics of them and add them to my festival review. As everybody else who is portrayed in these following photos they happily agreed, so here they are, the pics of the audience.
A comparison
If I compare RMD’z 2023 with 2022, one thing was undeniable, punctuality ruled. No delays, no sound problems, no technical issues on a perfect stage. A big thank you goes to Niels Spohrmann and his team. That was awesome! Otherwise we saw less bands than last year, less prominent names maybe, but, and this is a very big B U T, a very good, near to perfect selection of excellent bands. All bands were on a quite equal level, even if from different genres. RMD’z 2023 already made me look forward to 2024! Will you be there too?

Save the date:
Rock & Metal Day’z 2024 have already been announced and pre-sale started. You might notice the change of the date, six weeks later than 2023. There are good reasons for it, first of all, better weather conditions – at least most certainly. It is now much closer to Rock Harz Festival with only a few days in between. Experience the full package of both festivals! The driving distance is a little more than 45 minutes… Support the benefit festival first.
