It has become a tradition to celebrate the Eisheilige Nacht festivals in December. Subway to Sally came up with the idea in 2009 and so, here we are again in 2025, with nine concerts altogether in Germany and one in Switzerland, the opener. We will report on the start of the tour at Z7 Konzertfabrik in Pratteln on 12. December!
Tonight, we will be watching Ad Infinitum on their first headline tour. It was about time for the band anyway. Since the four musicians formed the band in 2018, they have constantly climbed the ladder of success, and are now one of the leading acts of the new generation of Symphonic Metal bands.
I sometimes have the feeling, nowadays everything must be called “progressive” even though it is just average music for the masses. “Unfathomed Gradients” is a nice effort to bring progressive metal to a level which is different to this “mainstream” progressive metal. Give it a chance and check it out, you won’t regret it.
It had been a few years since I last saw Alestorm and was really looking forward to covering their show in Denver. Joining them were Gloryhammer and Glyph. Alestorm were touring supporting their new album, The Thunderfist Chronicles. I arrived at the Summit about a half hour before doors opened to a line of people down the block and around the corner.
Borderland is unusual for Amorphis but still clearly Amorphis. Some people might miss the rougher side of the band. Others will appreciate this different side to the band. The producer’s softer influence is undeniable. Consider it an experiment in crossing borders. Welcome to the “Borderland”, Amorphis. Welcome to a new shore everybody outside in the world!
