Neuborn Open Air Festival 2026

Friend.X aka Mr. Deep·
It is the end of August, autumn is already knocking at the door, and it is time for another festival, N.O.A.F. at Wörrstadt near to Mainz. Arrival on Friday is easy-peasy: no traffic jams and an easy-to-find location, crowd, food and beverage tent, festival merchandise, external merch dealers, and of course my friends from Metality e. V. are all prepared for the spectacle to come. In its 21st year, it is the 20th edition of N.O.A.F. — Corona messed up the counting…

Party.San Saturday

Friend.X aka Mr. Deep·
The program on Saturday starts as early as 10:00, basically in the middle of a headbanger’s usual night, ages before coffee and breakfast. But what can we do? Exactly: four of us conquer our weaker selves, get up early, have coffee and scrambled eggs, and stand in front of the first band right on time. Dutch tribute band GOREFUNEST open the Frühschoppen on the Tent Stage with a spectacular set of Gorefest songs.

Party.San Friday

Friend.X aka Mr. Deep·
Friday starts slightly earlier, as already mentioned. Nevertheless, there is still enough time for a proper shower and breakfast until we get ready for the funny gig of the first band on the Main Stage. It is a tradition to wear funny clothes and costumes in the audience on Friday morning. You can see unicorns and dinosaurs in a mosh pit when Danish GUTTURAL SLUG take the stage.

Ulmich om Braand 2026 – the Report

Friend.X aka Mr. Deep·
On Friday 12 June, after work, I'm off to Ulmbach for the UOB – Ulmich om Braand – festival at the Schützenhaus. I park the car at the campground and in the day-parking area, then make my way – a beer’s-length walk – to the festival site. It’s not exactly easy going; it’s been raining heavily over the last few days, so we’re faced with conditions reminiscent of Wacken.

UOB 2026 first impressions

Friend.X aka Mr. Deep·
I have just returned from the UOB (Ulmich om Braand) festival, which is held somewhere between Frankfurt and Fulda in a fantastic, picturesque setting. The festival experienced Wacken-style weather conditions on Friday, followed by a fantastic sunny but not hot Saturday, which dried up all the mud as well as possible. Anyway, before I talk too much, here are my first impressions of this two-days festival.

BAN! Better than nothing! 2026

Friend.X aka Mr. Deep·
As last year, I once again thought outside the box. Thus, when my colleague Sarah gave me the Spotify-playlist of her Besser Als Nix-Festival, I decided to expand the scope another time and for two days, given that 90% of the Friday/Saturday bands can be counted to Rock and Metal genre. Enjoy the report about a festival with a mix of music, food, beverages, diversity, inclusion and just plain fun for all generations.
