Visions of Atlantis – A Pirate’s Symphony

A Pirate’s Symphony

Are you ready for Symphonic Metal turned into Orchestral Metal? As the next step of their mind-blowing evolution, the musicians of Visions Of Atlantis have decided to go an unexpected, different way. They deliver no vocals, no guitars, bass or drums but a full orchestral version of their 2022 album Pirates. Welcome to the pure listening pleasure of A Pirate’s Symphony, not for destruction but for entertainment.

So different

The order of the songs hasn’t changed. It makes it easier to compare them with the original versions. Otherwise everything has changed. Forget everything you know about Symphonic Metal, this is a completely different arrangement and level.

No judgement possible

I personally can’t judge it song by song because it is so complex. There is no “the album bearing song”. Listen to it as one piece and you must take the time for it. You must be in the right mood for it. Lean back on your couch or arm chair, close your eyes and listen, just listen.

“Release my Symphony” is not part of the album but I believe, the title fits and of course this live-version features an orchestration.

Dream away

Dream away and imagine, the adventure would go on, as if it was the soundtrack of a film. Really, who needs Johnny Depp, when you can have Clémentine Delauney as pirate queen instead?

Discover the details

Every song is so different. There are so many new details to be discovered. It really was worth taking the risk of going this way with the album. I feel a little bit like being back to the Golden Age of Baroque music, not only Piracy.

Perfect Job

Lukas Knoebel, who arranged all the orchestration has done a damn good and perfect job on A Pirate’s Symphony.
