It is the day of the concert of The Gems from Sweden at Colos-Saal, Aschaffenburg during their Phoenix over Europe headliner-tour. None less than Mia “Coldheart” Karlson joins them as live bassist! She will also be the support act with a short but impressive acoustic set.
Heavy Halloween 2024 in Kirchdorf blends spooky vibes, community spirit, and stellar performances. From Astroking's galactic power metal to Kommando B's raucous rock classics, this intimate festival unites music lovers in a hauntingly memorable experience.
I have seen this band live several times as support so far and what I talk about today makes me hungry for a headliner tour. Italian Power/Symphonic-Metalists Frozen Crown release their fifth album, the first one under the label of Napalm Records and with six members. After the fulminant “Call Of The North” it is now time for the “War Hearts”. I also interviewed guitarist and co-founder Federico Mondella a few days before the tour started and their album release, so pay attention to this interesting and detailed interview. Otherwise, here we go.
It is a few days before the tour start together with Ad Infinitum and Blackbriar in support of Kamelot. During the first days of the tour, Frozen Crown’s new album “War Hearts” will be released. I meet Federico Mondelli, guitarist and founder of Frozen Crown for an interview. We have already scheduled it for double the time than usual and I have quite a list of topics… We are both no native English speakers, and the questions were not scripted but as spontaneous as possible,
Margarita Monet, the vocalist of Edge Of Paradise and I had spent several hours together already. We’ve been talking about this and that, flight, gear, problems, tour, etc. since I met the band two hours prior doors opened. We almost forgot that we had scheduled an interview. Thus, most of the questions had already been answered by Margarita but not been recorded. We finally sit down backstage around midnight when the venue is emptying, and everybody can become a bit more relaxed.
It is always lovely to meet the one or other artist during festivals. Either by accident because they run into you or the other way round, or because you are scheduled for an interview with them. I've rarely had more fun in less time than during this interview with Gtto. Even Lisa from Napalm Records said afterwards, "This is a band you have to understand and get into, but you have the right kind of humour for it."
A few weeks ago, I had the honour and pleasure of interviewing Inga and Stefan from Van Canto at Rockharz Festival. They had just finished their set a few minutes before... After a quick handshake and introduction, Inga starts the interview.
The Maiden Mania Part II - the most unlikely venue still may host the most impressive show. A unique experience with
Blaze Bayley, Absolva, Sirens, Sacred Steel and Bobby Sixkiller in furnace of Willanzheim (Franconian countryside)
I have experienced impressive, sensational Edge Of Paradise. Now I know a little bit, how a stand-in musician must feel when she or he has to learn all the songs of the set list in only a few days. I got to know all their songs in just three days listening to them in rotation again and again without getting bored a single second.
