Looking back on 2023 means looking back to the past year and that is quite a tradition, not only for us at Obscuro.eu, but for more or less every human being. We have already read so many résumés and so might have you, but here are our personal musical summaries 2023.
We are reviewing the standard CD version of Weapons Of Mass Seduction with eleven cover songs. We try to avoid comparing the songs with the original versions, but consider them as independent songs as much as possible.
What could be better than having your own birthday concert if you're a true metalhead? Especially if you have your own band? Exactly, giving your own concert for your friends! This happened this weekend at the VAZ Burglengenfeld. The birthday boy in this case was none other than Flo Schmöller, singer of Mysterica and Wanted Inc.
Some weeks ago, I interviewed Cobra Spell’s vocalist Kris Vega. It is not her only band, I was already aware of Born In Exile, but she also told me about her third band, SerapiS Project, together with guitarist Joaco Luis. This conceptual progressive metal project released its first album in autumn 2023. I gave it a listen. I liked it, so here we are with the belated review of “Palingenesis”.
It is Christmas time 2023. Jingle Bells, Whamageddon, mulled wine and maybe a wee bit of snow come with it. But White Christmas is out of sight again. What we have instead are the Eisheilige Nacht Festivals 2023. Take the chance to enjoy this four-band package now.

Welcome to the world of Symphonic Metal. What started with Leviathan in 2021 and was continued with Leviathan II in 2022 will find its finale with Leviathan III. Of course we are talking about Swedish symphonic metal legends Therion who have just completed the Leviathan trilogy now.
Cobra Spell just released their first full album “666”. Short after, I had the honour to interview vocalist Kris Vega and hope, you will enjoy it as much as I did.
The final KISS End Of The Road tour kicked off on 31 January 2019 at the Rogers Arena in Vancouver, Canada and ended on 2 December 2023 at Madison Square Garden in New York City. So here it is, the last “Rock And Roll All Nite” and party every day. I bow down, or rather, as sung in God of Thunder, "kneel before the god of thunder and rock and roll".
