Amorphis – Borderland
Borderland is unusual for Amorphis but still clearly Amorphis. Some people might miss the rougher side of the band. Others will appreciate this different side to the band. Burning Witches – Inquisition
When Courtney Cox joined Burning Witches due to Larissa’s pregnancy, I knew this is the ultimate line-up for this Swiss metal band. I am therefore more than happy to review the band's forthcoming release “Inquisition” which is the first to feature Courtney as one of the two lead guitarists. Hopefully, there will be more to come in the future. Praising the excellent technical skills of the five musicians would be like taking coals to Newcastle. So, without further ado, let's check out the 12 tracks.
August 2025 – Single Release News
After summer holidays with 3 festivals in a row and a lot of writing and editing, it seems to be time for a little release update which of course is not complete and never will be.
July15th is the band we start with.
Are you ready for Party.San 2025?
Festival season has just begun, what we can see on the horizon looks promising. We will see mainstream festivals, small festivals, large festivals and extreme festivals. Party.San in Schlotheim is one of these extreme metal festivals. Party.San has around 10,000 spectators and presents a very interesting line-up, as you can see. Along with the audience and the great line-up comes a selection of merchandise, food and drink stalls that prioritises quality over quantity.
June 2025 – Single Release News
As most of you will have noticed, we rarely review single releases. As a change of pace, and because we received a lot of interesting songs, we have decided to make an exception for these June news.
All paths lead to Rockharz 2025 – traffic update –
The festival season of 2025 has already begun, with the calendar filling up with events each weekend. I have three festivals scheduled in a row, so it is no different for me:
First is Ulmich om Braand, located between Frankfurt and Fulda on the 20th and 21st of June. From there I will be heading to Rock & Metal Day’z at Oschersleben near Magdeburg, just 50 km away from my last festival on this tour. The festival runs from the 26th to the 28th of June, but I am part of the crew, so I will be there to help with setting up and taking down the festival during the week before and after. Finally, I will be heading to the Rockharz Festival in Ballenstedt from 2nd to 5th July.
UOB – Ulmich om Braand – preview –
The festival season has just started. The weather conditions are still a bit uncertain. I remember spending very cold mornings and evenings on the campsite and infield in the past, even in summer. We have the perfect solution for you: Camping, food and drink stands and an indoor tent stage for the Ulmich Om Braand festival on 20. and 21. June 2025.
