The program on Saturday starts as early as 10:00, basically in the middle of a headbanger’s usual night, ages before coffee and breakfast. But what can we do? Exactly: four of us conquer our weaker selves, get up early, have coffee and scrambled eggs, and stand in front of the first band right on time. Dutch tribute band GOREFUNEST open the Frühschoppen on the Tent Stage with a spectacular set of Gorefest songs.

Friday starts slightly earlier, as already mentioned. Nevertheless, there is still enough time for a proper shower and breakfast until we get ready for the funny gig of the first band on the Main Stage. It is a tradition to wear funny clothes and costumes in the audience on Friday morning. You can see unicorns and dinosaurs in a mosh pit when Danish GUTTURAL SLUG take the stage.

For 30 years, a small – indeed, NOT sooo small – community of dedicated metalheads has met for one of Germany’s most illustrious festivals. It is the place for real fans and enthusiasts, the place for experts and music lovers rather than for so-called festival tourists who just consume the atmosphere but neither breathe nor smell nor live it. For me, it is only the third time, but I have been completely in love with Party.San Open Air from the very first minute.

Party.San 2025 – We Love Hell

For the 29th time nearly 10.000 fans of the more extreme metal genres gathered at the airport Obermehler near Schlotheim in Thuringia to enjoy - with only a handful of exceptions - mostly variants of Death, Black and Thrash Metal peacefully together while having fun and in-depth discussions about the bands. As you can find a more detailed description of the area in the articles from the last two years, this year’s focus will be more on the tight programme and the most important thing, the bands.
